Cutting Board

The
Cutting Board is where raw ingredients get cut up. Put an item on it, hit it with the right tool, and the
pieces fall off the side. Knives do the kitchen work: cuts of meat, fish slices, dough and pie slices. Axes, pickaxes,
shovels, hoes and shears break down logs, stone, gravel and old gear. There are 117 recipes in all.

How to cut
Section titled “How to cut”- Put it on. Right-click the board with the item in your main hand. The whole stack goes on, and you can top it up with more of the same item. Right-click with an empty hand to take it all back.
- Cut. Right-click with the right tool in your main hand. Each cut uses 1 item from the board, drops the results to the side, and costs the tool 1 durability.
- Wrong tool? You get an “invalid tool” message and nothing happens.

. For blocks, any axe, pickaxe, shovel or hoe does
the job, and shears (modded ones too) salvage leather goods.
Lucky drops and Fortune
Section titled “Lucky drops and Fortune”Some drops only come sometimes; the percentage is shown in the corner of the slot. When a recipe gives two or more of a lucky drop, each one rolls on its own. A Fortune tool adds 10% to every one of these chances per level: the 10% Flint from Gravel becomes 40% with Fortune III. Knives and axes can both take Fortune.

The bonus per level can be changed in the config; 0 turns it off.
Automation
Section titled “Automation”- Dispenser slicer. A dispenser facing a Cutting Board uses whatever it holds as the cutting tool on the item on the board. The tool stays in the dispenser and only wears down. Put a hopper above the board to feed it and one below where the pieces land, and you have a hands-free meat or fish slicer.
- Watch out: while a board is in front of it, a dispenser never shoots its item out, even when the board is empty. You can switch this off in the config.
- Hoppers can put items on the board and take them off from any side.
- Comparator. A comparator reads how full the stack on the board is, from 1 up to 15.

Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Show off a tool. Sneak and right-click the board with a tool, a trident or shears to lay it on the board as
decoration.
Spyglass and
Trident lie flat;
everything else stands up. While a tool is on display the board can’t cut; take it off with an empty hand. - Mind the empty board. Right-clicking an empty board with a knife puts the knife on it like any other item.
- Support. The board needs a solid block under it, or something that holds up its middle like a fence, and pops off otherwise.
- Breaking it drops the board and the stack on it.
- Fuel. A Cutting Board burns in a furnace for 10 s.
