Skillet

The
Skillet is a frying pan. Cook with it in your hand near a fire, or place it on a heat source as
a small, fast grill. It cooks everything a campfire or the Stove can, in a fraction of the time: food
that takes 30 seconds on a campfire is done in 6 seconds. It also hits hard, for
4 hearts.

Cooking in your hand
Section titled “Cooking in your hand”- Hold the Skillet in one hand and raw food in the other, and stand close to heat: any heat source in the 3×3×3 blocks around you counts, even an unlit campfire or Stove. Being on fire works too.
- Hold right-click. One item goes into the pan and starts frying.
- Keep holding until it’s done. The cooked food goes into your inventory.
Let go early and you get the raw item back. You can’t start frying underwater, and food that can’t be grilled shows a hint instead.
Cooking on a placed Skillet
Section titled “Cooking on a placed Skillet”Sneak and right-click a block with the Skillet to place it; a normal right-click doesn’t. Set it on a lit heat source, just like a Cooking Pot.
- Right-click with food to put the whole stack in. The Skillet must be empty first: it won’t take more of a stack that is already cooking.
- Each item fries in the Skillet time, then gets tossed out the side, and the next one starts.
- Right-click with an empty hand to take the stack back.
- No heat: the current item loses progress twice as fast as it cooked. A waterlogged Skillet drops its food and won’t take more.

Cook time and Fire Aspect
Section titled “Cook time and Fire Aspect”The Skillet takes 20% of the campfire time, rounded down to whole seconds. Each level of Fire Aspect on the Skillet takes off another 5% of the campfire time, but nothing cooks faster than 3 seconds. A placed Skillet keeps the Fire Aspect it had when you placed it.
30 s × 20% = 6 s
All of the mod's grill foods take 30 seconds on a campfire. In a Skillet that is 6 s without Fire Aspect, 4 s with Fire Aspect I, and 3 s with Fire Aspect II.
As a weapon
Section titled “As a weapon”The Skillet hits for 8 damage (4 hearts) with extra knockback, but it is slow: attack speed 0.9. A fully
charged hit lands with a heavy clang. It has 250 durability, loses 1 per hit and 1 per block you mine with it,
and is repaired with
Iron Ingot.
It takes Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Knockback, Looting, Fire Aspect, Unbreaking, Mending and Curse of Vanishing, but never Sweeping Edge. Fire Aspect does double duty: it sets mobs alight and makes your cooking faster.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Breaking a placed Skillet drops its food and the Skillet itself, with its enchantments, durability and name intact.
- Held vs placed heat. In your hand an unlit campfire or Stove counts as heat; a placed Skillet needs it lit.
- No hoppers. Nothing can load a placed Skillet automatically.
- Sparks. A placed Skillet with Fire Aspect gives off little sparks, more with higher levels.
