Storage & decoration

Farmer’s Delight adds kitchen furniture that also stores things: cabinets in every wood, baskets that catch items, and crates and bags for your harvest. For decoration there are canvas signs, and the straw blocks on Straw, rope & nets.

Cabinets

A cabinet holds 27 stacks, like a single chest. It opens toward you and shows its doors open while someone is looking inside. There is one for every wood:

Hoppers can fill and empty it from any side, and a comparator reads it like a chest. Breaking it drops what’s inside, and a renamed cabinet keeps its name.

Crafting

The other woods follow the same recipe with their own slabs and trapdoors.

Baskets

Basket and Bamboo Basket hold 27 stacks and pick up items lying in front of their opening. The opening faces you when you place it, so a basket placed while you look down opens upward.

Shaded: the pickup area. Items lying anywhere in it are pulled in, one dropped stack at a time.

What it catches: items in its own block and in the one block its opening faces.
How fast: it grabs one dropped stack (as much as fits), then waits 0.4 s before the next.
Off switch: a redstone signal stops it collecting. A new basket starts switched on.
It never pushes items out. Put a hopper under it to send items on into a chest.
When it’s full, it stops collecting. A comparator reads it like a chest.

Crafting

Crates and bags

A crate packs nine crops into one block and crafts back into nine. The Bag of Rice, Rice Bale and Straw Bale do the same for rice, rice panicles and straw.

Crafting

The Beetroot Crate, Carrot Crate and Potato Crate can be switched off in the config, but they’re craftable by default.

Canvas signs

Canvas Sign and Hanging Canvas Sign are signs with a canvas face. Craft one with any dye to colour it; there are 17 versions of each, plain one included.

The text colour each sign starts with (default settings). Dye the text afterwards like on any sign.

On a dark background (gray, purple, blue, brown, green, red, black) the text starts out white so you can read it.

Good to know

Opening a cabinet angers nearby piglins, just like a chest.
Wooden cabinets burn in a furnace for 15 s; Crimson Cabinet and Warped Cabinet don’t burn.
Baskets can sit in water.
Knives break the rice bag quickly.
